Digitisation is the process of converting paper records into digital ones, using the help of a variety of systems and hardware. The goal of digitisation is to help businesses become more sustainable and better prepare for growth.
Is Digitisation the Same as Scanning?
Digitisation consists of the scanning, organising, and meta-tagging of analogue files. This means that paper files must be scanned to be digitised, but full digitisation also includes the additional processing of the electronic files, to make them easily searchable on an organisation’s database.
Which businesses are good candidates for digitisation?
Digitisation benefits businesses from all industries, but particularly those that rely on the availability of old archives and texts. This includes, but is not limited to:
